该部分由一段约1000词的会话或两段约500词的会话组成。改革后的会话在选材方面没有改变但题量变多了，由原来的5道单选题变为10道。试卷上不再显示问题，只印有选项，考生需要自己听录音中的问题并作答。每道题后有10秒的间隙，会话和问题都只读一遍。
