(2)点击MYACCA后登入您的学员号和密码进入
(3)点击左侧栏里EXAM ENTRY&RESULTS进入
(4)点击EXAM ATTENDANCE DOCKET生成页面打印即可
请仔细阅读准考证上EXAMINATION REGULATIONS和EXAMINATION
GUIDELINES,务必严格遵守。ACCA考试学员请仔细核对的考试地点,仔细看准考证上的地址,以免走错考场。
考生特别注意:
在考前两周,可以登陆MYACCA里打印准考证(准考证是学员考试必带的证明,请重视;打印准考证数量须和考试科数相同)。因邮寄的准考证收到时间较晚,建议提前打印好准考证,仔细核对报考科目和考试地点有无错误。
考试注意事项:
1.考前必带证件:身份证、准考证。
考试科目必须与准考证一致,考试中心编号必须与准考证一致,不可以在准考证上乱涂乱写。考场中的每一个桌子上都标有编号,必须确认自己的桌子编号与准考证上的编号相同,如果参加了多科考试,必须注意每一科考试的考场桌子编号的变化,如果没有坐在正确编号的桌子上考试,那么答题册将被宣告无效。
2.考试必备文具:黑色圆珠笔、小尺、铅笔、橡皮、计算器(单功能)、手表等(笔试)。
3.请考试学员尽量提前半小时到场(开考后一个小时后不允许进入考场)。
4.进入考场请仔细听考官所讲的考试规则,以免在考试中出现问题。在监考官宣布考试开始前,请勿打开试卷。请确认所发试卷是否正确。每位学员将会收到:试卷、答题本、机读卡、坐标纸(若有画图题),若有任何问题,请举手示意监考官。
5.规定ACCA考试学员进入考场后,必须把通讯设备及所携带的资料、书包等一并放置在监考官指定的位置并按照准考证上标明的考场及座位号就座。请注意不能携带手机到座位上,即使已经关机也不行。
6.考试正式开始前,必须用黑色圆珠笔填写答题册前面的具体信息:
学员ID和名字
桌子编号
考场编号
考试科目编号和版本
在考试结束前,必须在答题册封皮及答题页上方辨明已答题目的题号。
考生必须确认考试中所有答题册中的详细信息都填写完毕,考试结束后都不会再有多余时间填写以上信息。

2 The draft financial statements of Rampion, a limited liability company, for the year ended 31 December 2005
included the following figures:

No adjustments have yet been made for the following matters:
(1) The company’s inventory count was carried out on 3 January 2006 leading to the figure shown above. Sales
between the close of business on 31 December 2005 and the inventory count totalled $36,000. There were no
deliveries from suppliers in that period. The company fixes selling prices to produce a 40% gross profit on sales.
The $36,000 sales were included in the sales records in January 2006.
(2) $10,000 of goods supplied on sale or return terms in December 2005 have been included as sales and
receivables. They had cost $6,000. On 10 January 2006 the customer returned the goods in good condition.
(3) Goods included in inventory at cost $18,000 were sold in January 2006 for $13,500. Selling expenses were
$500.
(4) $8,000 of trade receivables are to be written off.
(5) The allowance for receivables is to be adjusted to the equivalent of 5% of the trade receivables after allowing for
the above matters, based on past experience.
Required:
(a) Prepare a statement showing the effect of the adjustments on the company’s net profit for the year ended
31 December 2005. (5 marks)
(c) (i) Using ONLY the above information, assess the competitive position of Diverse Holdings Plc.

(c) (i) Organic Foods Ltd (OFL) with a market share of 6·66% is the market leader at 30 November 2005 and is forecast to
have a market share of 8% by 30 November 2007. Operating profits appear to be healthy and therefore it seems
reasonable to regard OFL as a current ‘strength’ of Diverse Holdings Plc. This is supported by the fact that OFL has built
up a very good reputation as a supplier of quality produce.
Haul Trans Ltd was acquired on 1 December 2005 and has a demonstrable record of recent profitability. It is noticeable
that the profitability of HTL is forecast to increase by 40% (excluding inflation) during its first two years of ownership.
No one organisation appears to dominate the market. Forecast profits are expected to grow significantly from an almost
static turnover and thus more information is required regarding how this increase in profitability is to be achieved.
Management may have identified opportunities for achieving significant cost savings and/or forming business
relationships with new and more profitable customers, while ceasing to service those customers who are less profitable.
Kitchen Appliances Ltd (KAL) has been identified as both a weakness and threat. KAL’s market is slowly contracting,
but its share is falling more quickly. It was almost the market leader at 30 November 2005. Judging by its fall in the
level of operating profit KAL is carrying heavy fixed costs which must make it more difficult to compete. Indeed, it is
forecast to make a loss during the year ending 30 November 2007. KAL has suffered from squeezed margins as a
consequence of competition from low cost imports. The situation may be further exacerbated as competition from abroad
intensifies.
Paper Supplies Ltd (PSL) has stood still in a growing market, one which is dominated by a single supplier. PSL appears
to be struggling to achieve any growth in turnover, profits and therefore cash flow. PSL cannot really compete with a
narrow range of products and only two customers.
Office Products Ltd (OPL) is growing but appears unable to increase its operating profit in % terms. It appears to be
operating in a high-growth market but unable to achieve a reasonable market share in spite of the fact that its products
are highly regarded by health and safety experts.
(b) Provide an example that illustrates a structured application of the terms contained in the above statement in
respect of a profit-seeking organisation OR a not-for-profit organisation of your own choice. (6 marks)
(b) An illustration of the features detailed above, framed in the context of a University as an organisation in the not-for-profit sector
might be as follows:
The Overall objective might well be stated in the mission statement of a University. An example of such a mission statement
might be as follows:
‘To provide a quality educational environment in a range of undergraduate and post-graduate disciplines and a quality
educational focus for students and the business community.’
More specifically, objectives may be seen as the achievement of ‘value for money’ thereby ensuring effectiveness in areas such
as:
– The provision of high added value to students;
– The establishment of a reputation for recognised expertise in specific areas of research work within the wider community;
and
– The provision of a high quality service to industry and commerce.
Strategies may focus on aspects such as:
– The recruitment and retention of high quality academic staff;
– The development of IT equipment and skills within the institution;
– The mentoring of students in order to ensure high added value and low drop-out rates in intermediate years of study;
and
– The close liaison with employers as to qualities in graduate/post-graduate employees that they will value highly.
The determinants used to measure the results of strategies might include:
– Competitiveness – cost per graduate compared to other institutions; growth in student numbers; number of staff holding
a PhD qualification;
– Financial performance – average cost per graduate; income generation from consultancy work;
– Quality – range of awards (percentages of 1st class degrees); employer responses; measures of quality of delivery of
education, advice to students, etc;
– Flexibility – variable entry and exit points to courses; modular structure; the variety of full-time, part-time and distance
learning modes;
– Resource Utilisation – staff:student ratios; quotas met by each course; accommodation filled;
– Innovation – latest IT provision in linking lecture theatres to information databases; increased provision of flexilearning/
mixed mode course provision.
The application of business change techniques might include the following:
BPR with a focus on IT developments, flexible-learning or mixed mode course provision.
JIT with a focus on moves towards student-centred uptake of educational opportunities e.g. via intranet availability of lecture
and tutorial material linked to more flexible access to staff rather than a ‘push’ system of pre-structured times of
lectures/tutorials.
TQM with a focus on moves to improve quality in all aspects of the learning environment including delivery of lectures, access
to staff and pastoral care issues.
ABM with a focus on activities on a per student basis (both planned and actual) with a view to eliminating activities that do
not add value e.g. cost per lecture per student.
(b) Explain and give examples of assertive behaviour. (7 marks)
(b) Assertive behaviour on the other hand is based on equality and co-operation. It involves standing up for one’s own rights and needs but also respects the rights and needs of others. It is not overbearing or aggressive but can be described as clear, honest and direct communication.
Assertive individuals defend their rights in a way that does not violate another individual’s rights. They express their needs,wants, opinions, feelings and beliefs in direct and appropriate ways.
Characteristics of assertive behaviour include statements that are short, clear and to the point, distinctions made between fact and opinion, suggestions weighted with advice and evidence. Constructive criticism is the norm and offered without blame or assumptions. Questions to establish the wishes, opinions and thoughts of others are used as ways of getting around problems. There are no ‘ought’ or ‘should’ conditions, the first statement is often held, the individual’s own feelings are expressed and not those of others. Assertive behaviour can be successful if it displays a willingness to deliver a mutual compromise as an aid to achieving a clear objective.
